A satellite communication terminal has been tested in Russia

Tests of the Messenger-autonomous communication terminal, which fits into a backpack, have been completed. This was reported by TASS with reference to the deputy general director of the enterprise for the operation of the Gonets satellite system, Andrei Manoilo.

According to the head, the tested system is ready for mass production. During the tests, the terminal confirmed the ability of continuous operation for over 4 hours. The new version of the device received a smaller antenna. "The antenna is remote, which allows, if necessary, to quickly replace it with a modification traditionally used in transport," added Manoilo.

In July, Pavel Cherenkov, holding the position of CEO of Gonets, announced the development of a personal satellite communication device the size of a mobile phone.

In March, the agency was told by the company that the Gonets satellite system will be replenished with small spacecraft, which are planned to be launched by the end of 2025.
