The Progress RCC reported that two Resurs-P satellites are almost ready

Two Resurs-P Earth remote sensing satellites are almost ready now. This was announced by Dmitry Baranov, General Director of the Progress Rocket and Space Center (RCC).

"We have two Resurs-P at the output now: one is almost ready for ground tests, the second will be ready in early 2022," Baranov said in an interview with the Russian Space magazine (the official publication of Roscosmos).

According to the general director of the enterprise, these are serial devices that are used for the study of natural resources, control of pollution and environmental degradation, monitoring of water protection and protected areas, information support for the search for mineral deposits and other purposes.

The fourth and fifth Resurs-P satellites are planned to be launched by Soyuz-2.1 b launch vehicles from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in 2022. It is expected that in 2023-2024, a new generation of Resurs-PM satellites will be launched by Soyuz-2.1 b rockets from the Plesetsk cosmodrome.
